Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (WMHSAC) has an experienced team of health professionals, including Aboriginal health workers and practitioners, GPs and nurses who work together to improve health outcomes of Aboriginal people. To show recognition to staff for their ongoing high standard of service delivery to the community, the WMHSAC board approved the delivery of a team-building retreat. Ascentive worked with senior management to develop the retreat program, which was delivered over three days. The program was designed to be highly innovative, engaging, informative and enjoyable with team building, self-care and development. The program also included elements of organisational development, organisational strategy, and capacity building. A follow-up report was executed, and funding and recommendations were presented via an online meeting. A tailored program of activities was delivered, and WMHSAC has actioned recommendations based on the report.
