The Busselton Jetty is the key iconic attraction in the City of Busselton’s over $200 million annual tourism industry. The Jetty indirectly contributes $10 million per year to the local economy. Mark Weller prepared a Cost Benefit Assessment to accompany funding applications for a proposed Marine Discovery Centre. The assessment quantified the proposed economic benefit. Using the information provided, Busselton Jetty Inc. were successful in their funding applications, being awarded $15.8 mil in State and Federal funds to construct the Marine Discovery Centre.
