The General Gumala Foundation comprises three entities committed to supporting and empowering Gumala Traditional Owners to achieve independence and a sense of self embedded in culture. The General Gumala Foundation’s trust deed requires a review of the operation of the Foundation, and the trust deed is completed every five years. Ascentive were engaged to complete the fifth review, covering 2019-2024. Our work included survey design and review of extensive stakeholder feedback, investigation and analysis of Foundation and Trust structures and elements of performance. The review was implemented as a positive, continuous improvement process. Recommendations were made to support identified needs and future development in line with the terms of the review. Mark Weller presented the results to the Gumala AGM attended by over 1,100 people in person and online.
