As a passionate and committed community group, KBBA recognised the need for new facilities to support expanding basketball programming in Kalgoorlie. The existing facility, built over 40 years ago, was nearing the end of its useful life. Working with the KBBA committee and the project architect, our team prepared a needs assessment, feasibility study, and detailed financial analysis to support project funding requests. KBBA facilitated stakeholder engagement, and we completed a comparative market analysis and an options analysis to determine the preferred facility development and management model. Additionally, we identified gaps in current and future usage, performed a lifecycle cost analysis, and prepared funding applications for the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) and the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF). The KBBA secured $6.8 million from the State Government and $3 million from the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder for the Basketball Stadium Project.
